Book Review: Delirium By Lauren Oliver

Name: Delirium
Author: Lauren Oliver
Publisher: Hodder books
Release date: Out Now!

Summary: Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy

Review: Imagen not being able to tell someone you loved them. Imagen being watched almost 24/7 so that you don't show any loving affection to your loved ones? Deliriums world is not a world I want to live in because right now the only word I want to use for this book is love. I Love it! And as my tears drop on pages of Delirium I truly wonder how Lauren Oliver could get through writing such a heart breaking beautiful book.

The plot is amazing. Twists, turns, mysterious, haunting moments. The whole concept is so original I haven't come across nothing like it and it was so refreshing. Not being able to fall in love not being able to show affection, to get an operation to stop those feelings is just baffling and an amazing read. Each page, each paragraph, each line and each word had you feeling every emotion mentioned in the dictionary Anger, annoyance, Love, Happy, sad and all of the above. The mood of the book was so atmospheric and Lauren can truly make you feel like your in that moment feeling everything the character is feeling.

The characters all stood out to me, Each and every one. Lena and Alex's relationship is so beautiful. It was completely overwhelming to me their scenes with each other were some of the most romantic scenes I have read in a YA novel. The sexual tension tension, the poetry, the beautiful words shared between them was just so emotional and you just wanted everything to work out between them. Also there are many more characters in this novel I would be here all day if I talked about them all but I will say this. If you like nice, challenging, scary, characters then this is the book for you.

As soon as I opened the novel it was so haunting and exciting. It had my pulse facing, heart pounding tears rolling down my face and smiling with excitement. This book brought me in straight away and I couldn't believe how many jaw dropping moments there truly was! So next time you see a loved one make sure you tell them you love them. After reading this book your view on love will never be the same. Amazing.
