Review: How are we suddenly 11 books in and here at the penultimate journey! Its been a rollercoaster of a ride so far..but before I published this review I had to take a few days to go over all the thoughts I had with this book, so I wouldn't just go in on the offensive.

I'm going to start with a gripe and get it over with. I also think I only have this because I'm approaching this as an older reader and so they're not long enough for me because I want more, and it's that wanting more that is also surely a good sign! But it was over too quick, and I had to sit with it for a few days to make sure I really took in all the little bits of it.

There is this almost blunt forward nature that is Shan's writing all over...and its because its so blunt that when you get a reveal is like BAM smack in the face, whether you saw it coming or not. It also allows for honest reflection from B that allows her to talk without the Hamlet-esq monologues. B is definitely a changed Zombie...but I've felt this was for a while and the constant situations have definitely left their worn down mark like they would with anyone I'm sure. But B if nothing is a survivor and wants to do good, and won't go down without a fight. It's this morality that gives the book its spark, B has become a character that we all want to push on and that we journey with so our lives are almost one as the reader.

This is very much a set up novel, but in the way that a lot suddenly happens that actually just opens up a lot more questions that it actually answers...like the BABIES...THE BABIES, oh holy moley...and i'm still guessing where this is all going to end!

You've come this far in the series so of course you're going to keep going and if your coming into this this fresh and you've not touched the series before, they're a good action packed read, which covers a lot of relevant issues, with some fun artwork to boot, so do check them out and let me know what you think.
