Book Review: Falling Apart By Jane Lovering

Name: Falling Apart
Author: Jane Lovering
Publisher: Choc Lit Books

Summary: In the mean streets of York, the stakes just got higher - and eva pointier.
Jessica Grant liaises with Otherworlders for York Council so she knows that falling in love with a vampire takes a leap of faith. But her lover Sil, the City Vampire in charge of Otherworld York, he wouldn't run out on her, would he? He wouldn't let his demon get the better of him. Or would he?
Sil knows there's a reason for his bad haircut, worse clothes and the trail of bleeding humans in his wake. If only he could remember exactly what he did before someone finds him and shoots him on sight.

With her loyalties already questioned for defending zombies, the Otherworlders no one cares about, Jess must choose which side she's on, either help her lover or turn him in. Human or Other? Whatever she decides, there's a high price to pay - and someone to lose.

Review: As some of you may well remember I devoured Jane Lovering's Vampire State Of Mind last year when I was having a hard time reading. Nothing seemed to keep me hooked, I stopped and started a number of books. Some for pleasure some that were sent to me for review, one of those books happened to be the second in the Fifty Shades trilogy.
When I started a Vampire State Of Mind I was like finally something that I can get my teeth into. When I finished it I wasn't sure if it was a stand alone novel but I was pleased to find out that there would be a follow up story. It was good to know that I'd get to spend some quality time with Jess and Sil again. If I'm honest I didn't get to start Falling Apart as quickly as I would have liked from when I received it. What I will say is my oh my did I go through a number of emotions whilst reading this book. As Jane and @ChocLitUk found out from my tweets that I was randomly sending whilst on this journey with Jess and Sil.

Jess- I loved her in the first book and in the second as a reader I found out so much more about this kick ass female. She really does not take any prisoners and she has a fetish for hobnobs whoop and a lot of coffee. Hey I really do think she should be my best friend LOL.
There were a number of times when I wanted to hug her and there were a number of times I messaged Jane saying wtf!! or argh! I truly adored Jess and Liam's relationship in the first book he is that super geeky friend who is also like a little brother. In book two there was a moment about three quarters of the way through when I became frustrated and messaged Jane saying no no just no and god bless her she told me to calm get a cuppa and a biscuit and keep reading. I don't want to write any spoilers but there was a moment in this book when I sat there and went FUCK NO!!!!! but it was needed to make the story and the outcome so much sweeter. I feel like I was on the edge of my seat throughout reading Falling Apart, yet the ending was so simple and perfect it was like I could finally breathe again.

Sil really doesn't change and he still manages to freak me out weirdo. But what I will say is he really did surprise me during Falling Apart.
As I keep saying to anyone who will listen I am such a huge fan of Jane Lovering and this series will always have a special place in my heart. As it was how I discovered Jane in the first place. I cannot say anything more about this rollercoaster, vamp related tale apart from the fact I believe everyone should get to know Jess and Sil you'll love them. I will admit I did get a small soft spot for a poor zombie in reading this.

I think you suffered more than Jess did during this book! But I am very glad you enjoyed it, despite the 'wtf!' and the 'arrrgh' moments.
