Book Review: Splintered by A.G Howard

Name: Splintered
Author: A.G Howard
Release date: OUT NOW
Summary: This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.
When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own

Review: This book is crazy, Weird, addicting and beautifully written.
From the beginning this novel felt different... It made me feel on edge a bit. This is no fairytale.... Alice in wonderland just got edgier, cooler, darker and even more exciting.
Literally this is one of the best fantasy books I've read. I've loved Alice in Wonderland since I was little... And to find a book that uses the story but changes in such a way, that it could blow your mind is so fantastic.

A.G Howard's writing is so mesmerizing and addicting. I felt like I was in the book. I felt every emotion Alyssa was feeling. The written imagery is beautiful. Not at all two dimensional. I felt like I was watching a movie. The characters in this novel are so refreshing! I loved Alyssa. I've never come across someone like her before. She's strange, brave, confused and determined. She's a beautiful read.
Then there's Jeb. Jeb is so cool. Why? Well the guy is brave, sexy, funny and passionate... Everything us readers want in a lead male.

Then Morpheus. I bet he was named after the greek god of dreams. Why? Because I swear I wouldn't mind him visiting my dreams at night! The strange blue headed man with killer eyes and a few hats I wouldn't mind wearing. If you love a great fantasy with cakes, talking bugs and flowers, but also just a fantastic addicting story then pick up Splintered. Like the king in Alice in wonderland said said "Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end: then stop." - because it's so worth it
