Book Review: City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

Name: City Of Fallen Angels
Author: Cassandra Clare
Publishers: Walker Books

Summary:City of Fallen Angels takes place two months after the events of City of Glass. In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever.
First of all I'm going to come out and say that it seems like I've been waiting years for this book to come out, and yet it has only been one year (a totally acceptable amount of time to wait for an in-series book!) - this is the power and curse of Cassandra Clare's plots, the woman pulls you in and sets your heart racing for hundreds of pages and then BAM! she's gone for a year.

The plot is, as you might expect if you've dipped your toe into CC's fictional waters before, fast-paced, dramatic, and character-driven. These people are, on the whole, movers and doers more than thinkers. Saying that, it's difficult to deny that there's pining and angst worthy of the most tell-all teen diary in this story - these almost-adults are so brilliantly imagined. I loved that there were some references and mentions from Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices series)! I got so excited, I almost jumped around and happy danced whenever Will was mentioned! This just makes me want to buy Clockwork Prince NOW!!!

Clary the awesome kind girl who has gotten more braver through out the series and it defiantly shows in this novel I loved that it was set a few months later; and didn't try and deal with the immediate aftermath of the last book. It was good to see Clary developing a bit more both in terms of her shadow hunter abilities and as a person. I really enjoyed her relationship with Jace too. I think some may find that comment odd because it was so fraught and conflict-ridden; but I enjoyed the angst actually. I really understood all the different and overwhelming emotions Jace felt. Simon who I think gets more bad ass every time I read about him. One thing I missed most in this novel was MAGNUS (as he is my favourite character) I was so excited to see he's back with Alec from their holidays.

There is a HUGE cliffhanger ending. Like HUGE and shocking! My Mouth stayed open for what seemed like days thinking oh no! I have to wait another year to find out what is gona happen next!

So Cassie, thank you and I applaud you. You’ve created a world I feel a part of and never want to leave. Congratulations on a wonderful follow up and I wait with breath for the 5th instalment!

Why I love The Bleeders and Michaela Haze

As you know if you follow my blog and me on twitter...I am a little obsessed with Michaela Hazes novel The Bleeders. If you guys want to read my review check it HERE those are just some of the reasons this book is epic. But I have more.

1. Its set in London, England and to be fair its refreshing to read a book that isnt set in America (love America). Its freshing to actually know the places the characters are going ( I live in London).

2. OH adult content is good. I love YA buts its good to have some Adult too. This isnt to graphic its just right so I would say 16 and over could read it. So all is good in the hood ( I cant believe I said that)

3. Henry Oh Henry the sexy male lead who isnt afraid of taking Fia and doing things only Edward Cullen would dream of XD (Dont hate Twilight fans I love twilight)

4. A girl called Fia who actually has a personality and likes to drink a drink once in awhile and likes to smoke a cigarette I mean come on people IT DOES HAPPEN.

5. Its written by one of the most awesome women in the world ;) who has become a great sweet friend of mine who is going to be my AD (assistant director) in filming something special for a new novel being released in the UK. Shes kind VERY smart a commited person who lied about her age because people wouldnt publish her book because they thought she was to young. Ha to all the people who didnt think she could do it. I wish her all the luck and joys in the world and i hope we stay friends for a LONG time!  Now go buy her book because it will have you weak at the knees :)

Check out Michaelas Twitter, Youtube and buy her book at Amazon NOW!

Red Riding Hood Screening and QnA

Before I talk about this movie and the awesome two days I have had spending time with the cast and being at the preview screening check out the trailer for Red Riding Hood.

The trailer is awesome isnt it? Ok so I had an awesome two days with my good friend Asma. Thanks to my friend Hayley she gave me and Asma preview screening tickets for RRH. I did hear about this movie and saw the trailer and thought "this movie does look awesome" Especially with the two lead guys BUT i will talk about those hot men later ;)

So that was the ticket we were given. They are so pretty and I am going to keep hold of mine just for a memory. So when we got into the Cinema at the Empire in liecester Square, London... We knew the cast were coming to present it so we ran to the front of the theatre and sat right at the front. Then the cast were introduced and all hell broke loose between me and Asma... Want to know why? because MAX AND SHILOH ARE SO HOTTTTTTT! they took our breathe away. You should of seen our faces our mouths were catching flies LOL Amanda looked so pretty in her black dress and Catherine looked like a sexy momma with those leather pants XD.

Ok so when the cast went off we finally watched the film. Before I watched this I heard a lot of people calling this like a spin off from Twilight or the Wolf version of Twilight. In my head im like is that a bad thing? LOL I LOVE Twilight and if there is more movies like it why not watch it? lol The movie was AMAZING. And at times thrustrating because you seriously were just as confused as Red Riding hood was. We just wanted to figure out who the hell was the wolf. The way it was shot was SO BEAUTIFUL. The contrast of RR red cloak and the white snow was mesmerising. The romantic scenes really blew me away Shiloh and Amanda have great chemestry and that Barn scene was WOAH ( I saw no more. Go watch it) overall great movie.

So on to the next day we found out that there was going to be a QnA at the apple shop in oxford street with the RR cast and directer so we went down and once again got first row! when they finally came out and sat down you could see they were nervous especially Shiloh. But as soon as the presenter told them that a couple of girls (us) were at the screening last night they were asking us questions instead of us asking them. They asked who we thought the wolf was and Shiloh who plays Peter kept saying to us did you think it was me? we were giggleing the whole way through.

Catherine hardwick was giving everyone advise on how to be a directer and Amanda was giving us advise on how to be a actor her words were "make sure you know what makes you cry. and make sure you know what the hell makes you scared" ( gotta love her LOL) there was a scene in the movie at the beginning that makes you feel this movie is going to be all nice and happy but then it kinda shocks you and sets the tone. We were talking about that to the cast. I said to them " yeah i was just eating my popcorn and almost spitted it out" they laughed. There should be a video podcast of the QnA on the UK apple store website soon so if you guys wanna check it out go LOOK! Overall the movie was amazing the cast were amazing and of course Catherine Hardwick was her awesome self! check out my photo with her. Her words to me : " I like you red" (I had a red coat on XD)

Hush Hush Press Release

Hush, Hush Pictures, Images and PhotosSo this is a bit late and I am sure everyone knows but ive been a bit out of it lately with work lol BUT Patrick from selion books sent me an email and press release of some AMAZING news about Becca Fitzpatricks novel Hush Hush here it is:

ATLANTA, GA – March 31, 2011 – Sea Lion Books announced today the acquisition of the comic book and graphic novel rights to Becca Fitzpatrick's New York Times bestselling Young Adult novel Hush, Hush. A romance laced with intrigue, it is the story of a young girl torn between desire and suspicion in her love for a fallen angel. A true psychological thriller, Hush, Hush was the first book in a trilogy, with the story continuing in Crescendo and concluding with the forthcoming Silence, which is scheduled for release in October 2011. The series has a worldwide following, with sales of more than 1 million books in 35 countries.
“Becca Fitzpatrick is a huge bestselling author,” said Kuo-Yu Liang VP Sales & Marketing for Diamond Book Distributors. “I think this series is a great addition to Sea Lion Books line up of projects and should be a major hit for them”.

Hush, Hush is the story of Nora Grey, a studious sixteen-year-old girl from Coldwater, Maine. It has been a year since her father's murder and she is not interested in much other than her schoolwork. Then she meets Patch, a bad boy—and fallen angel. Though unwisely attracted to him, Nora finds herself caught in a battle between the fallen and the immortal. Choosing the wrong side could cost Nora her life.

Becca Fitzpatrick is delighted to have her book brought to graphic novel form. "Hush, Hush was my first book, and it's so thrilling that it has been embraced by so many readers. I'm delighted to be working with Sea Lion to tell Patch and Nora's story through graphic novel format!"

Sea Lion Books shares the delight in working alongside the bestselling author on the adaptation, and feels that Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush series is a fantastic addition to its graphic novel line.

Hush, Hush #1 is scheduled to debut in winter 2011. The creative team on the project will be announced at a later date.

That is AMAZING news! actually seeing Nora and Patch making out on another level is always great dont you agree? XD
